This CGEA course provides opportunity for skill development in reading, writing and numeracy to meet personal needs, facilitate community participation, or workplace and further education and training options. This qualification aims to improve your academic skills to undertake further training and education and enhance your employment opportunities.
Certificate I outcomes focus on the development of literacy skills to create and interpret simple, personally relevant texts and mathematical knowledge to apply numeracy skills in everyday familiar situations. Skills and knowledge are applied to develop and document a learning plan, prepare a portfolio to show evidence of learning and engage in a project.
There are no entrance requirements as such but a pre enrolment interview is required and enrolment is available throughout the year. Please contact the area of study for an appointment.

This CGEA course aims to provide a general education. That is, initial skill development in reading, writing and numeracy and skill development in a variety of areas to meet personal needs and to facilitate participation in the community, or other workplace and further education and training. On successful completion of this course a participant will be able to: - clarify project goals with an appropriate support person, plan, carry out and evaluate a project - develop and document a personal study plan and gather a portfolio of evidence with support - read and interpret short, explicit and personally relevant texts - create simple, personally relevant texts - apply simple mathematical knowledge in familiar and everyday situations. This qualification aims to improve your academic skills to undertake further training and education and enhance your employment opportunities.

This course is a bridging course for clients who need to develop the necessary employability skills which will support their transition to work, further education and community participation. It is a hands on course ensuring students are engaged in practical components.
The core units provide opportunities to learn confidence building strategies, problem solving, communication, team work, basic computer and technology skills. It is aimed at the development of personal, social and employability skills and life skills that are applicable across a wide range of industries and career groups.
This course is designed to assist learners who have been marganilised or disadvantaged in some way, to articulate into vocational pathways and to develop the skills and abilities to direct their own development.
