Certificate II in Autonomous Workplace Operations

Delivered at:

Study modes:

Full-Time

Sub study areas:

Process Plant Operations/Technology

This qualification provides the practical skills and knowledge to safely work within an autonomous workplace, demonstrate awareness of what an autonomous workplace is, how it operates, what unique safety systems are present, how the human-machine interface operates and what, why and how data is used within such workplaces.

A familiarisation to the control systems used within industry, the various programming techniques employed and the relevant industry standards governing such systems is also covered.

This course would appeal to students who have a keen interest in IT and robotics. Automation is the creation and application of technologies to produce and deliver goods and services with minimal human intervention. Automation technologies, techniques and processes improve the efficiency, reliability, and/or speed of many tasks previously performed by humans.

Successful completion of the course will see students gain an understanding through interaction with simulated plant operations and robotics. The course prepares students to be work-ready as a trainee or apprentice in an industries which are rapidly becoming more automated including, but not limited to:  mining, refining and oil and gas.
