About TAFE International Western Australia
Each year international students from more than 100 countries choose to study at a TAFE college in Western Australia.
TAFE International Western Australia (TIWA) is the unit within the Western Australian Department of Training and Workforce Development(opens in a new tab) responsible for the recruitment and admission of international students studying at Western Australian TAFE colleges.

Temporary relaxation of working hours for student visa holders – this takes effect immediately for any new or ongoing students and includes the added ability to also start work before their course commences and work for more than 20 hours per week. This will be reviewed by the Federal Government in April 2022.
Student visa holders who travel to Australia between 19 January – 19 March will be eligible for a refund of their visa application charge.
Visa extension for COVID affected Temporary Graduate 485 visa holders - On 18 January 2022, the Australian Government announced that Temporary Graduate (subclass 485) visa holders who are eligible for a replacement Temporary Graduate visa because they lost time in Australia as a result of COVID-19 international travel restrictions, will have their visas extended to 30 September 2022.This interim measure allows eligible Temporary Graduate (subclass 485) visa holders who were affected by COVID-19 travel restrictions, to enter, or remain in, Australia to live and work until they can apply for and be granted a replacement Temporary Graduate visa.

Bursary for International Students
TAFE International Western Australia are currently offering bursaries of AUD$5,000 to study, work, and live in regional Western Australia.
Applications are now open for students starting February or July, 2023 and 2024.
