Select at least one option to generate PDF.This qualification will provide you with skills and knowledge used in the automotive vehicle servicing sector. You will learn skills in carrying out servicing operations, inspecting and servicing engines, steering and suspension systems, repairing single electrical circuits, using and maintaining workplace tools and equipment. You will also learn how to apply safe work practices and apply basic automotive troubleshooting processes.
The aim of this pre-apprenticeship is to provide learners with industry specific training to gain skills, knowledge and behaviours to enable transition into an indentured apprenticeship.
This course is part of the Lower fees, local skills initiative. From 1 January 2020 through to 31 December 2025 you'll only pay half the course fees, capped at $1,200; or $400 if you're aged 15—24 or eligible for a concession, plus resource fees and other fees that may apply to your course.

A minimum of 150 hours of work placement is mandatory for completion of this course. This will involve your attendance at a workplace/worksite during the program depending on the host employer and availability. Please see the Work Placement Bulletin(opens in a new tab) for further information.
