When you complete the Diploma of Community Services you'll be on your way to a team leading career as a program coordinator, early intervention worker, or case manager.
This course is part of the Lower fees, local skills initiative. From 1 January 2020 through to 31 December 2025 you'll only pay half the course fees, capped at $1,200; or $400 if you're aged 15—24 or eligible for a concession, plus resource fees and other fees that may apply to your course.

This qualification addresses work in roles that usually involve service delivery, either direct client work and/or community education or development projects.
Workers at this level operate at an advanced skill level and may also have responsibility for the supervision of other staff and volunteers and the design and delivery of service programs, managing budgets, contracts and compliance requirements.
Possible career options for graduates are Welfare Worker, Youth Worker, Developmental Worker, Home Care worker, Family Carer or Nursing Assistant. Graduates are able to work in aged care homes, youth shelters, State Government Family and Community Service Agencies, youth centres, aboriginal communities, community centres and local councils. Working for oneself through contract community work is possible also.
South Regional TAFE is transitioning this qualification to the new training package in 2024. Students will be enrolled into the new units developed to meet current and future industry needs. Fees may vary for courses transitioning to the new training package.
