When you complete this course, you will be ready for a career in the health care sector in a variety of different environments such as a hospital assistant, patient services assistant, and ward assistant.
You will have the knowledge to work effectively with others in a team environment, communicate in the workplace and apply workplace health and safety and infection control practices.
In addition, you will gain a range of skills that will enable you to perform general cleaning tasks in a clinical setting, prepare and maintain beds, transport individuals and undertake routine stock maintenance including linen supplies. These skills will enable you to work as a member of a team that provides support for the effective functioning of health services.
This qualification reflects the role of workers who provide support for the effective functioning of health services. At this level workers complete tasks under supervision involving known routines and procedures or complete routine but variable tasks in collaboration with others in a team environment.

This course will be FREE from 1 January 2023. The course fees are 100 per cent subsidised by the WA State Government.
