When you complete this course, you will be ready for a career in the Graphic Design industry. You will have the skills and knowledge to combine technical, creative and conceptual skills to create designs that meet client requirements and solve a range of visual communication challenges. Graphic designers work in many different commercial and community contexts across both print and digital media. At this level, you may end up working in junior or generalists roles, applying skills and knowledge relevant to areas from advertising and promotion, art direction, branding, corporate identity, instructional design, packaging, signage to web design. You will also be introduced to taking your first steps towards working freelance in the Graphic Design industry. As well as providing an opportunity for gaining employment, this qualification also provides a pathway towards higher level learning at advanced diploma and degree qualifications.

Individuals must provide evidence of their technical skills and ability to:
• produce multiple examples of graphic design work that meets different design requirements
• produce typography that supports the overall design solution
• use graphic design industry software.
Skills and knowledge may have been acquired through personal or work experience or formal study.
