Description

This one-day course is an essential update for primary producers in all aspects of chemical use and is designed to maintain AusChem WA accreditation. It covers new information in environmental safety, personal and occupational health and safety, legislation, spraying and calibration techniques, residues and resistance to chemicals.

Participants must have completed Risk Management in Pesticide Use (or an equivalent qualification).
Chemical users who have let their accreditation lapse for over 10 years are not eligible to attend re-accreditation programmes and will need to re-take Risk Management in Pesticide Use.

Auschem Accreditation - Risk Management in Pesticide Use

Description

This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills required to manage risks associated with chemical use, and to understand your obligations in the areas of duty of care, quality assurance and environmental management.

Participants will learn on a practical level how to improve their integrated pest management programmes, to better choose the right chemical for the job and to apply it more accurately.  The course is designed for people who will be spraying chemicals without supervision.

Aqua Specialisation

This course provides you with employment options and a way to increase your earning capacity by becoming as Aqua instructor in an industry that is rich in employment opportunities!

Participants must be a minimum of 18 years of age on the date of assessment.

You must have sound literacy and numeracy skills

What to wear (PPE)

For the practical assessment all participants are required to wear appropriate work wear:

  • long trousers
  • wet weather gear, if required
  • steel capped boots

Lodging a High Risk Work Licence Application:

On the successful completion of this course, YOU must send the high risk work licence application form to WorkSafe within 2 months of your assessment.

Failure to send your application to Worksafe within the 2 months will mean you have to be reassessed at an additional cost.

This application must include:

Completed ‘WorkSafe WA Application for a Licence to Perform High Risk Work’ form

2 copies of identification (primary & secondary)

2 passport sized photos attached to the form

A copy of your statement of attainment

Notice of Assessment given to you by the assessor on successful completion of your assessment and payment for licence fee.
