Description

These three separate short courses are suited to people who are in industry or have completed (or in the process of completing) an apprenticeship in the fabrication industry and are required to have skills in welding to a specific standard.

Certification

On successful completion of this course, students will receive a statement of attainment for the following nationally accredited units, depending on which course is chosen.

  •     Welding gloves are required for the Stick and MIG welding classes; specific TIG welding gloves are required for TIG

Welding - General

Description

This course covers the process of using a welding machine and the difference between MIG & Stick welding.

It is a great place to start if you have not done a lot of welding or have done a small amount and want to learn more.

Suited to beginners, hobby welders, home handy man and trades assistants wanting to up skill.

Certificate III in Engineering - Fabrication Trade (Heavy/Welding YH)

National ID: MEM30305 | State ID: WT77

This qualification will provide you with trade level practical skills and knowledge in fabrication and welding, using industry standard technologies and techniques. You will learn skills in using tools, measuring and calculating, technical drawing, load shifting, thermal cutting, using forging and casting equipment, and advanced welding to trade standard. (NB. You will need to be employed and registered as an apprentice/trainee before you can undertake this course). This course may also be available through Recognition of Prior Learning to eligible applicants.
