Children Trainer Skill Set

Description

This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to plan, instruct and evaluate movement programs for children aged between five and twelve years. It requires the ability to supervise young children in small groups participating in movement programs designed to promote functional movement, physical activity and general health.

Certificate III in Education Support

This qualification will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to assist the teaching staff in schools and provide care and supervision for children from kindergarten to Year 10. You will learn how to implement planned education programs, assist students in their learning and development, contribute to the safety and health of students and support students with additional needs.

Work placement

The training package does not specify any mandatory entry requirements into this course. However prospective students should note that a mandatory part of the course requires you to participate and complete a supervised work placement, in a suitable environment that provides the services in your selected area of study. Before you commence work placement, you may be required to obtain a police clearance (approximately $72).

Please check when you enquire as to whether a police clearance is required for your work placement. It is strongly recommended you also consult with your doctor about having a flu vaccination. Further information on work placement requirements can be obtained from the CHC Training Package Implementation Guide This course is Competitive at selected campuses and further Entrance Requirements may apply. Not all study modes are offered at all campuses.

Description

This skill set provides the necessary skills and knowledge for people training under supervision in the VET sector, who work mainly in classroom situations. These units provide credit towards TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment. This skill set is targeted at individuals who train others within a workplace. The training may be accredited or non-accredited. The role may involve some coaching at individual or small group level. These units meet industry requirements for enterprise trainers. Those entering this program must be able to demonstrate vocational competency in their proposed teaching area. Vocational competency is defined as broad industry knowledge and experience.
