Description

This course is for anyone wishing to learn the operating functions of a vehicle loading crane for the purpose of loading and unloading that vehicle.

Participants will be provided with the skills and knowledge to setup and operate a vehicle loading crane (capacity less than 10 metre tonnes) safely in accordance with workplace requirements.

The course covers classroom and practical training and included the following:

  • Pre-operational checks and planning
  • Set up crane
  • Operational crane
  • Shut down and pack up crane

This is an assessable course and you will be required to undertake a;

  • Written assessment
  • Practical assessment

There are 2 main types of vehicle loading cranes:?

  • Cranes with less than a 10 metre tonne capacity.
  • Cranes with a 10 metre tonne capacity or more.

This training course is for operating a vehicle loading crane with less than a 10 metre tonne capacity.

Requirements

Have the necessary levels of health and fitness to operate equipment safely. You must have literacy and numeracy skills to a level that will allow you to complete the written component of the assessment. If you have language or literacy concerns please discuss them with us so that alternative arrangements can be made PRIOR to the course commencing. Able to communicate and understand instructions for safety requirements. Wear steel capped boots (hard hats supplied during the training).

Certification

This is an accredited course. Those successfully completing this course will receive:

  • a Statement of Attainment in the nationally accredited unit RIIHAN307D Operate a vehicle loading crane
  • Heavy Equipment Accreditation wallet card
