Topics covered in this course include:
    Getting to know your DSLR camera and how it works
    How to control the camera using manual modes
    Shutter speed, aperture and ISO controls
    Focusing, light meter
    Understanding exposure
    Choosing the right lens for the job
    File formats – convenience versus quality
    How to best use light
    Qualities of light, composition, when to shoot
    Portraiture – photographing your family and friends
    Documenting your experiences, locations, travel
    Basic Photoshop
    Practicals, course notes, constructive feedback and student image review sessions

Requirements
    A DSLR camera or mirrorless camera with the option of manual mode, capable of manually adjusting shutter speed, aperture and ISO controls is essential for this course
    Interchangeable lenses – an added advantage
    Image card(s), Image card reader, USB, charged camera batteries and chargers
    The manual for your camera (most manufacturers have online manuals you can download via the web if necessary)
    A tripod – please bring if you have one
    Knowledge of working with computers
    Pen and notepad
    Course content includes completing assessment criteria

Please familiarise yourself with your cameras manual prior to starting the course.
