New infrastructure skill set prepares locals for jobs

A new Infrastructure Ready skill set is on offer at our Bunbury campus.

The focus of the three-week course is to prepare local people to work in civil construction projects.

This course is FREE for people aged 15-24 years (not at school) and other eligible community members as part of Skills Ready. For more information on eligibility, see the Infrastructure Ready skills set course page

During the course, you will learn about work safety practices (including White Card), carry out measurements and calculations, learn how to prepare and organise construction work and gain skills to operate equipment and tools in construction projects.

During your work placement, you will gain real, hands-on industry experience and secure a ‘foot in the door’ by working with an employer.

By completing the Infrastructure Ready program you may:

• be offered a job with your work placement employer;

• be offered a traineeship in civil construction;

• gain employer references; or

• be endorsed for other employment opportunities within the civil construction industry.

*This program is funded by JobTrainer – a joint initiative of the Western Australian and Australian Governments.

The next course is scheduled to run from 19 April to 6 May so apply now via the link on the course page.
