Lower fees, local skills

Reduction in TAFE fees to benefit local students

NEW COURSES ADDED TO THE HALF-PRICE* FEES LIST

A significant reduction in fees will make training more affordable for students enrolling in selected South Regional TAFE courses in 2020 and 2021.

From 1 January 2020 to 31 December 2021, the course fee rate per hour for these qualifications will be reduced by 50 per cent. The maximum annual fee students will pay is capped at $400 for concession students and youth, and at $1,200 for non-concession students for each course of study.

From 2 July 2020, new courses have been added to the Lower fees, local skills list - see the updated list below for all available courses and the new ones just added.

The fee reductions are a result of the State Government’s new Lower fees, local skills program and is aligned with priority industry areas to make vocational education and training more affordable. The two-year initiative aims to stimulate training in job growth areas and support important sectors of the State’s economy including aged and disability care, METRONET, defence, hospitality and tourism. The following courses on the Lower fees, local skills Opens in a new window list are delivered through South Regional TAFE.

Most will be delivered in Semester 2, 2020, starting in July, and in 2021; some will be delivered only in Semester 1, 2021. See the course page for details.

*Please note only tuition fees are half price for the Lower fees, local skills qualifications. You will be required to pay resource fees and other fees to enrol in these courses.
