Welding - TIG, MIG & Stick

Description

These three separate short courses are suited to people who are in industry or have completed (or in the process of completing) an apprenticeship in the fabrication industry and are required to have skills in welding to a specific standard.

Certification

On successful completion of this course, students will receive a statement of attainment for the following nationally accredited units, depending on which course is chosen.

    MEM05012C Perform Routine Manual Metal Arc Welding
    or
    MEM05050B Perform Routine Gas Metal Arc Welding
    or
    MEM05049B Perform Routine Gas Tungsten Arc Welding

School age students
Students who would normally be attending year 12 or below in the current calendar year will be eligible to enrol at the commercial / international rate for this course.

This courses isn’t available to Visa 500 International Students.

Important information

In order to comply with safety requirements, students are required to attend all classes wearing:

  •     Long work trousers (cotton or denim)
  •     Long sleeved work shirt (cotton or denim)
  •     Steel capped work boots
  •     Students must supply a welding shield (helmet) compliant with Australian Standards equipped with a number 11 shade lens or an auto shade helmet
  •     Clear safety glasses
  •     Welding gloves are required for the Stick and MIG welding classes; specific TIG welding gloves are required for TIG

All equipment can be purchased through any supplier of protective equipment.
