This course covers the process of using a welding machine and the difference between MIG & Stick welding.

It is a great place to start if you have not done a lot of welding or have done a small amount and want to learn more.

Suited to beginners, hobby welders, home handy man and trades assistants wanting to up skill.


On successful completion of this course, students will receive a statement of attainment for the following nationally accredited units.

This course has basic equipment and/or PPE requirements (Located under Important information)

Non-Concession: $310.80
Concession: $194.45
Commercial / International: $466.55

School age students
Students who would normally be attending year 12 or below in the current calendar year will be eligible to enrol at the commercial / international rate for this course.

International students
This courses isn’t available to Visa 500 International Students.

Important information

What to wear (PPE)

In order to comply with safety requirements, students are required to attend all classes wearing:

  •     long pants
  •     long sleeved work shirt
  •     steel capped boots
  •     students must supply a welding shield (helmet) compliant with Australian Standards equipped with a number 11 shade lens or an auto shade helmet
  •     clear safety glasses
  •     welding gloves

Equipment can be purchased through any supplier of protective equipment.
