Description

This course is for people who want to work in traffic management on public roads and other designated traffic management areas.
It will provide trainees with the knowledge and skills required to be able to safely control traffic with a stop/slow bat in accordance with Main Roads WA requirements and to implement basic traffic management plans for works on roads.
The course covers:
    Plan and prepare
    Set out the traffic guidance scheme
    Monitor traffic guidance scheme
    Close down traffic guidance scheme
    Control traffic
    Operate communication devices
    Plan, Prepare and Co-ordinate Traffic
    Operate Radio
    Clean Up

Entry requirements

Participants must have:
    A valid driver's licence, or evidence of previously having held a driver's licence (no learner's permits or moped licences)
    Literacy and numeracy skills to a level that will allow them to complete the written component of the assessment.
    A Whitecard (Safety Awareness Training) in order for attendees to complete the logbook component of the training on a construction site.

Certification

On successful completion of this course, students will receive a statement of attainment for the following nationally accredited units:

RIIWHS201D -  Work Safely and Follow WHS Policies and Procedures
RIIWHS205E - Control traffic with stop-slow bat
RIICOM201D – Communicate in the workplace
RIIWHS302E - Implement traffic management plans

School age students
Students who would normally be attending year 12 or below in the current calendar year will be eligible to enrol at the commercial / international rate for this course.

International students
This courses isn’t available to Visa 500 International Students.
