This course trains novice operators in the skills required to enter the industry as a certified skid steer loader operator.
The course covers:
    Plan and prepare for skid steer loader operations
    Operate skid steer loader
    Load, carry and place materials
    Select, remove and fit attachments
    Relocate the skid steer loader
    Carry out machine operator maintenance
    Conduct housekeeping activities

Entry requirements

This is an assessable course and you will be required to undertake a:
    written assessment (approximately 47 questions)
    practical assessment


On successful completion of this course, students will receive a Heavy Equipment Accreditation wallet card.

School age students
Students who would normally be attending year 12 or below in the current calendar year will be eligible to enrol at the commercial / international rate for this course.

International students
This courses isn’t available to Visa 500 International Students.

Important information

What to wear (PPE)

For the practical assessment all participants are required to:

  • Wear appropriate work wear (long trousers), including wet weather gear if required,
  • You must wear steel capped boots

Delivery location, important dates and study options
