Know your camera basics but still unsure how to progress? Leading on from our popular Digital Photography for Beginners, you will learn more about the skills needed to move past the limitations of auto modes to continue on your creative journey.
Using Portraiture, People and Products as our subject matter, you will learn about lighting, composition and how to use aperture, shutter speed and ISO to capture the important things in life.
This course offers a blend of helpful theory in easy-to-understand terms, clear demonstrations and student practicals so you can put the theory into practice.
This course will cover:
Still life photography
Creative photography concepts
Understanding light qualities and exposure
Using a flash
Shooting to a design brief
Defining your style
Working in photoshop
It is preferred that participants have completed the unit ICPDMT321 Capture a Digital Images (Digital Photography for Beginners) before enrolling in this course. Otherwise, a good working knowledge of your camera in manual mode is required.
Participants will also require:
A DSLR or mirrorless camera with the option of manual mode, capable of manually adjusting shutter speed, aperture and ISO controls is essential for this course
Interchangeable lenses or broad range zoom lens
An off camera flash is essential for this course
Image card(s), USB, camera card reader, charged camera and flash batteries, chargers
Be familiar with your camera manual prior to starting the course (most manufacturers have online manuals you can download via the web if necessary)
Knowledge of working with computers
Pen and notepad
Course content includes completing assessment criteria
On successful completion of this course, students will receive a statement of attainment for the following nationally accredited units:

Students who would normally be attending year 12 or below in the current calendar year will be eligible to enrol at the commercial / international rate for this course.
This courses isn’t available to Visa 500 International Students.
