Load Restraint

State ID: MAA49

The safe loading of vehicles is vitally important in preventing injury to people and damage to property. There are economic benefits to all if the load arrives at its destination intact and without damage.

If you are a heavy vehicle driver and part of your job role is to transport loads from one destination to another, then this course is designed and aimed at ensuring you have a clear understanding of ensuring the load you are transporting is safe and secure while in transit.

This course is provided to ensure that you and your colleagues become familiar with the general principles of load restraint and the use of the new Load Restraint Guide. It is not a formal training day on load restraint, but rather an information day to ensure that your awareness of load restraint issues is raised, and that you are able to navigate the content of the new Load Restraint Guide.

During this course you will learn and understand the importance of restraining a load on a vehicle. The course covers:
    load restraint awareness
introduction to the Load Restraint Guide
    general principles of load restraint
    arranging loads on vehicles
    restraining loads on vehicles
