Description

This theory and practical workshop based course starts with the growing and roasting of the beans and leads you through the process of extracting the perfect espresso and making the complete menu of espresso drinks.

You will learn, understand and put into practice the basics of espresso coffee. Also included is coffee cultivation and processing, roasting and blending, different coffee styles, coffee bean storage, grinder setting, adjustment and milk texturing and espresso machine cleaning.

Join our hands-on latte art masterclass and learn the basics – heart, rosetta and tulip, the three foundations of great latte art.

You will be guided on how to hold the jug, the importance of milk flow, pour speed and symmetry.

This is a hands-on class which means no theory, no assessments – just three hours of practising latte art.

 

If you have coffee knowledge or have completed a barista course, this workshop is for you.

The class will be held at the Albany campus, but please contact us to arrange for a trainer to come to

your workplace if you would like after-hours training for your staff.

Description

This food hygiene short course is for workers in the hospitality, and catering industries, including those who work in bars, restaurants, cafes, residential facilities, fast food shops, and canteens.
In this accredited course you will gain the skills for safe food handling practices for compliance with the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code.
On completion of this course you will have the skills and knowledge to work hygienically within a food business and the certification to show prospective employers your commitment to food safety. 
The day will start with theory on subjects such as;
- Commonwealth, and state food safety laws, standards and codes
- How to identify food hazards
- How to report personal health issues
- How to prevent food and cross contamination

You will then go on to complete your assessment in class time, followed by your practical assessment in the kitchen or bar (depending on the campus you study at).
