This qualification reflects the role of support workers who complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services; either in residential, home or community based environments.

Workers will take responsibility for their own outputs within defined organisation guidelines and maintain quality service delivery through the development, facilitation and review of individualised service planning and delivery. Workers may be required to demonstrate leadership and have limited responsibility for the organisation and the quantity and quality of outputs of others within limited parameters.

To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 120 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of the units of competency.

This qualification reflects the role of community service workers who design and deliver person-centred services to individuals and/or groups. Workers may provide support, advocacy or interventions to individual clients, groups or communities across a range of services.

At this level, workers may be autonomous with limited responsibility within established parameters and may be required to supervise and lead other workers in projects or teams. Work may take place in a range of community service, case work or case management contexts.

This qualification addresses work in roles that usually involve service delivery, either direct client work and/or community education or development projects.

Workers at this level operate at an advanced skill level and may also have responsibility for the supervision of other staff and volunteers.

The training package does not specify any mandatory entry requirements into this course. However prospective students should note that a mandatory part of the course requires you to participate and complete a supervised work placement, in a suitable environment that provides the services in your selected area of study. Before you commence work placement, you may be required to obtain a police clearance (approximately $72). Please check when you enquire as to whether a police clearance is required for your work placement.

It is strongly recommended you also consult with your doctor about having a flu vaccination.

This childcare course is completed over 2 years commencing in Semester 1 each year. It is ideal for those persons with a passion for working with young children. There is a large emphasis on practical application of your skills. Work placements will be organised by the college in local early childhood enterprises. If you are already working in the industry, you may wish to enquire to study as a flexible student and complete assessments on work-based projects. Recognition of prior learning (RPL) is also available for people with substantive, recent industry experience in a licensed Early Childhood Education and Care setting.

This qualification is for educators in early childhood education and care services who are responsible for planning, implementing and managing programs in accordance with approvals, quality rating systems and duty of care requirements.

This qualification will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to assist the teaching staff in schools and provide care and supervision for children from kindergarten to Year 10. You will learn how to implement planned education programs, assist students in their learning and development, contribute to the safety and health of students and support students with additional needs.

You will also learn how to work with children and young people at risk of harm, work effectively with culturally diverse students, families and co-workers and gain an introductory knowledge into working with children with special needs. As part of this qualification you will undertake a supervised work placement where you will be able to apply the skills and knowledge you have learned.

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who are employed to perform a range of skilled operations in funeral homes or mortuaries.

Individuals in these roles work relatively autonomously, participate in teams and may coordinate and supervise others. They require discretion and judgement in the provision of service, work requirements and contingency measures. Knowledge and application of funeral services industry protocols is required when dealing with the bereaved.
