This Skill Set is designed to upskill existing Educators working in or towards the role of Educational Leader by using Action Learning projects based in their workplace.
This reflects the role of early childhood educators who are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum in early childhood education and care services. In doing so they work to implement an approved learning framework within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard.
The role of the Educational Leader within Early Childhood Education and Care is to
• collaborate with educators on their curriculum development
• provide curriculum direction and guidance
• support educators to effectively implement the cycle of planning to enhance programs and practices
• lead the development and implementation of an effective educational program in the service.
On successful completion of this course, students will receive a statement of attainment for the following units:
CHCPOL003 Research and apply evidence to practice
CHCPRP003 Reflect on and improve own professional practice
CHCMGT003 Lead the work team
There are no formal entry requirements for this course however the course requires students to hold or be working towards a leadership role with an Early Childhood organisation.
To be successful in this AQF level 5 course, students will require research skills, report writing, digital skills to use Microsoft Office, and use learning management system.
Participants over 18 years of age will need to be eligible to obtain a Working with Children Check in order to complete workplace projects.
Some host organisations may also request a Federal Police Clearance.
