The campus is a joint initiative of the Margaret River Senior High School, Department of Training, South Regional TAFE, Curtin University and Edith Cowan University.

It represents best regional education practice that allows learners at secondary, vocational and tertiary levels to seamlessly transition through various courses that begin at high school and can culminate in post-doctoral studies.

Through the co-location of these education providers, facilities and expertise can be shared across these sectors, providing educational opportunities rarely found outside the metropolitan area. 

The Margaret River Campus also offers a range of short courses including forklift operation, responsible service of alcohol (RSA), barista, computing skills, photography, MYOB, evaluate wines and AusChem.

Description

This theory and practical workshop based course starts with the growing and roasting of the beans and leads you through the process of extracting the perfect espresso and making the complete menu of espresso drinks.

This course covers the process of maintaining, preparing and operating hand-held chainsaws in a work environment.

These skills can be transferred to the homestead, are useful for home gardners and could lead to employment in parks and gardens or landscaping.

You will gain skills and knowledge in understanding the correct type of chainsaw for a particular task, how to use the chainsaw, maintain the chainsaw and store suitable personal protective equipment.

This childcare course is completed over 2 years commencing in Semester 1 each year. It is ideal for those persons with a passion for working with young children. There is a large emphasis on practical application of your skills. Work placements will be organised by the college in local early childhood enterprises. If you are already working in the industry, you may wish to enquire to study as a flexible student and complete assessments on work-based projects. Recognition of prior learning (RPL) is also available for people with substantive, recent industry experience in a licensed Early Childhood Education and Care setting.

This qualification is for educators in early childhood education and care services who are responsible for planning, implementing and managing programs in accordance with approvals, quality rating systems and duty of care requirements.
