Description
This course will provide you with the knowledge and skills required to enter and work in confined spaces in the Resources and Infrastructure Industries.
In this course you will learn the requirements for working in confined spaces including:
â–º timely completion of entering and working in confined spaces safely
â–º work within a confined space and compliance with the permit conditions
â–º procedures, records and techniques,
â–º knowledge of the legislation and relevant standards
â–º site/organisation risk assessment guidelines,
â–º use and maintenance of appropriate PPE and more.
South Regional TAFE has a purpose-built customised training facility onsite at our Albany Campus.
Certification
On successful completion of this course, students will receive a statement of attainment for the following nationally accredited units:
RIIWHS202D Enter and Work in Confined Spaces
To remain current, it is recommended that you complete this course every two years

Adequate literacy and numeracy skills to complete the written component of the assessment. If you have language, numeracy or literacy concerns, please discuss them with us before the course starts.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
For the practical assessment you need to be in appropriate work wear and bring suggested items as listed below;
- long trousers
- long sleeved shirt
- steel capped boots
- rain jacket (if required)
