Certificate IV in School Age Education and Care

This qualification reflects the role of educators who work with school age children in out of school hours care and vacation programs. Educators support the implementation of the, “My time, Our place “ national learning framework. Educators may work under direct supervision or autonomously and may have responsibility for supervision of volunteers or other staff.
When you complete the Certificate IV in School Age Education and Care you'll be on your way to a career as an outside school hours carer or school holiday program coordinator for children aged between 6 and 12 years.
You will gain the knowledge and skills to work effectively in the education sector, supporting the development of children, implementing inclusion strategies, understanding legal, ethical, and administrative requirements, first aid, working with cultural diversity, and workplace health and safety.

Entrance Requirements

Work placement
Students are required to obtain a Working with Children Check, a Police Clearance and medical clearance before attending work placement. Under 18 students will be required to obtain a Confidential Statutory Declaration and a medical clearance.
Job opportunities
Successful completion of this qualification provides you with the opportunity to become a Educator School Aged Education and Care, Nanny, Family Day Care Educator or Play Leader, Team Leader, Educator School Aged Education and Care.
