When you complete this course, you will be ready for a career in Information Technology. This qualification reflects the role of individuals who are job ready and competent in a wide range of information and communications technology (ICT) roles and apply a broad range of skills in varied work contexts, using problem solving skills and effective communication with others.
You will have the skills and knowledge necessary for database development such as interpreting specifications, technical designs and flow charts, scripting database creation and manipulation modifying software applications, constructing technical specifications from models as well as testing, and writing technical documents. Additionally, you will learn skills related to database management such as managing, cleaning, storing, and verifying organisational data as well as evaluating compliance with internal and external data ethics regulations and legislation.
Students also learn systems administration support skills to implement maintenance procedures and support to help troubleshoot system applications.
Specialisations are available in:
Networking - involving installation, configuration and testing of organisation-hosted and cloud-hosted networks and servers; as well as
Programming - in a range of modern object-oriented languages, analysing client requirements to design, build, test and deploy software applications in Mobile Apps, Websites & Web Apps, Desktop Apps, Console Apps & Services and Device/Robotic Controllers.
