Are you looking for a career making and fixing all things mechanical?

When you complete the Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical Fitter ZA) you'll be looking at a trades career as a machinist metal, mechanical fitter, metal plater or plant mechanic in industries such as mining, automotive, or hydraulics. You will gain the skills and knowledge to work with pumps and hydraulics, pneumatic systems, mechanical drives and transmissions, using workshop machines, hand and power tools, arc welding, thermal cutting, measuring, technical drawing, and workplace health and safety.

This course is an apprenticeship:  you must be employed in a training contract by an appropriate organisation to study. To find out more regarding apprenticeships click here.

South Regional TAFE is transitioning this qualification to the new training package in 2022. Students will be enrolled into the new units developed to meet current and future industry needs.

Half-price

This course is part of the Lower fees, local skills initiative. From 1 January 2020 through to 31 December 2025 you'll only pay half the course fees, capped at $1,200; or $400 if you're aged 15—24 or eligible for a concession, plus resource fees and other fees that may apply to your course.
