The course provides participants with the knowledge and skills to perform tasks associated with entry-level workforce participation, in a range of trade-related industries. Some tasks involved are safe operations within the workplace, communication in the workplace, planning and organisational requirements, general maintenance within a variety of settings, communicate with trades persons.

Stationery Requirements
  • 1 x A4 two ring files
  • 3 x A4 size file dividers – 5 tabs
  • A4 size loose paper reinforced holes (pkt. of 100)
  • Calculator (must have square root function and be a basic model)
  • 2 x blue pens, 2 x red pens
  • 2 x mechanical pencils (0.5mm and 0.7mm lead) or
  • 2 x 2H/4H pencils
  • Eraser
  • USB (8GB)
  • 2 x set squares (45° and 60°- 30° degrees set square)
  • Drawing Compass. Will be advised by the Lecturer of a suitable type.
Uniform/PPE requirements
  • Enclosed steel capped safety boots - Heavy leather uppers and heavy-duty soles
  • Long heavy cotton drill trousers and cotton drill shirt
  • Safety glasses must meet Australian Safety Standards
  • Long hair must be tied-up or contained

  • The course fee cap applicable to Diplomas and Advanced Diplomas only applies during the current calendar year, so fees might differ for students enrolling in semester 2.
