Description

This AusChem Training WA course is suitable for workers who use hazardous substances and dangerous goods in their job.

Training is flexible to meet the needs of the client group and can be tailored to particular chemical use needs.

The course is suitable for a wide range of chemical users who may handle paints, solvents, adhesives, corrosives, or detergents, as well as cleaners and those involved in maintenance and graffiti removal.

The program fulfils the requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Regulations 1996 in relation to 5.21 Induction and Training.

The course covers:
• Assessing the risk of using hazardous substances
• Safe storage
• Exposure, controls and PPE
• Using hazardous substances
• Disposal Emergency situations
• A useful list of do’s and don'ts for a safe workplace.
• Employer’s check list and Worksafe-approved record-keeping template
This is an assessable course. You will be required to undertake a written assessment. You must have literacy and numeracy skills to a level that will allow you to complete the assessment.

Certification

This is an accredited course. Those successfully completing this course will receive:

Statement of Attainment for the nationally accredited unit AHCCHM101A Follow Basic Chemical Safety Rules from Certificate III in Agriculture.
