ATTACH CORD AND PLUGS - S7431

Description

This short course provides skills and knowledge to allow the successful attendee to make repairs to electrical leads/cords and plugs which are connected to an electrical appliance which is to be connected to a 240volt metered main supply. Participants will be able to identify cable types, develop basic skills in making the necessary repairs and or connections to the plugs and or cords.
The course covers:
• Selecting suitable plugs to replace existing installations
• Determine that a lead or appliance is safe to connect to the supply
• Tag and recording of test results.

This is an assessable course. You will be required to undertake a written assessment.
On completion of this training participants will be able to undertake this work in their workplace, however we do recommend continued on-the-job training to maintain competency.

Pre-Requisites
You must have successfully completed the following units of competency.

• UEENEEP026A - Conduct in-service safety testing of electrical cord assemblies and cord connected equipment
• UEENEE101A - Apply occupational health and safety regulations, codes and practices in the workplace

Certification

This is an accredited course. Those successfully completing this course will receive:
Statement of Attainment and nationally accredited unit from Certificate II in Electrotechnology (Career start) which is:

• UEENEEP024A Attach cords and plugs to electrical equipment for connection to a single phase 230 volt supply
